NEW YORK (AP) — Fox News Channel is parting ways with former Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin, ending her three-year tenure as a contributor on the network.While Palin's time at Fox was occasionally rocky, the network's news executive, Bill Shine, said Friday that "we have thoroughly enjoyed our association" with her."We wish her the best in her future endeavors," said Shine, Fox's executive vice president for programming.A person familiar with discussions between Fox and Palin described the parting as amicable, saying that Fox and Palin had discussed renewing her contract but she decided to do other things. Latino Civil War Veteran Given Military Honors Nearly a Century After Death
When Eloy Zamora's mother told him that his great grandfather had fought in the Guerra Civil, or Civil War, he assumed she me <a href={url}>{keyword}</a>ant the Mexican Revolution.
Zamora, a Mexican American, had no idea his mother meant the American Civil War.
"It was really a surprise for all of us to find out," in T <a href={url}>{keyword}</a> exas after searching for the information on the Internet.
Sgt. Ignacio Zamora fought for the Union in the civil war and died ninety-five years ago, but thanks to his great-grandson's work he was finally given his proper military honors.
Zamora, a veteran who served in the Army in West Berlin in 1971 and 1972, gathered all of the necessary paperwork and received a military headstone from the United States Department of Veterans Affairs for his great grandfather, according to the local newspaper.
Thanks to Eloy's efforts, Sgt. Zamora's headstone now sits next to his relatives graves in a small cemetary in Peñitas, Texas.
“It’s just an awesome and great feeling to know that someone in our family fought in the Civil War, which was the bloodiest war and most horrific war we’ve had in the U.S.,†he said.
Sgt. Zamora was 26 when he enlisted in the Union Army in Brownsville in 1864 and served until November 1865. He died in 1912 at the age of 82.
The sergeant is one of a fairly large number <a href={url}>{keyword}</a> of Mexican-Americans who served in the Civil War, according to The Monitor, about 2550 Mexican-Texans fought for the Confederacy and 950 fought in the Union Army.

Mexican sugar growers demand drop in fructose imports
Mexican sugar growers occupied sugar warehouses across the country Monday to demand a reduction in fructose imports, the CNC peasant confederation said.
The president of the UNPC growers union, Daniel Perez Valdes, said in a statement that the sugarcane farmers began protesting at 7:00 a.m. at mills supplying Mexico's 53 sugar refineries.
The growers want tighter import quotas on fructose, "which has become the main sugar substitute used by several food industries," the statement said.

Drug Lords Reveal Trade Secrets in ‘Extreme Smuggling’

In the first episode, former smugglers as well as police officials and military personnel talked about their experiences in the field and various methods drugs are smuggled in such as rigged cars, submarines, underground tunnels and even ultra light planes.
Cartagena, Colombia, is at the center of the first episode when U.S. and Colombian authorities discover a U.S.-bound submarine made out of fiberglass and Kevlar.
The craft eventually was spotted in the Caribbean out of mere coincidence and officials were able to confiscate more than six tons of cocaine, with a street value of $180 million.
Fox News Latino reached out to both “Extreme Smuggling†and ICE for comments but calls and emails were not returned.

In an online clip, a Peruvian drug trafficker revealed creative ways in which his family sent off packages of cocaine into the US from Lima.
“Miguel†-- not his real name -- shared that they made more than $1 million annually with their family operation.
Their product, he said, “is 95 percent pure, obtained from a local drug cartel.â€
“What we have here are bricks of one kilo cocaine. We transport these to the city by trucks. We hide them in gas compartments. I normally get these in the jungle for about $1,000 to $1,200 a piece,†Miguel said in the clip.
The audience gets to see how Miguel transforms everyday household goods like a bar of soap, into a clandestine smuggling tool. He injects two ounces of cocaine by “cutting it very carefully down the middle with a nylon string,†then sealing it back together.
“We carve out the gut of the soap very carefully ,†Miguel said in the video. “The person that carries this soap back can make about $1,000. Just for one bar of soap.â€
